99 Thousand Rupiah From Kuta Town to Garuda Wisnu Kencana By Taxi

I was on business trip this May 2016. I only got half day before departing to my home. Going to Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GKW) at South Kuta Bali was unintentional plan. Garuda Wisnu Kencana open daily at 8 am. Departed from Jalan Raya Kuta at 7.30 am by Bluebird Cab and we arrived around 8 am. It took only 20-25 minutes and cost 99.300 Rupiah. It was considered cheap because its four of us in that taxi.

We arrived at drop off area of Garuda Wisnu Kencana at parking area. It was too early, so the internal shuttle bus had not been operated. Walking from parking area to ticket booth seemed far, but it was quite close actually.

GWK entrance ticket cost 70.000 rupiah. With that amount of money, we could watch dance performance at amphitheater which performed every hour. The first performance started at 10 am. There are several plaza, such as turtle plaza, wisnu plaza and garuda plaza. It was odd when we entered turtle plaza because the stair covered by snake statue. Wisnu plaze is a sacred place, so we had to dress properly. They had prepare Sarong to cover our legs. If we already dressed properly, they lend us scarf to be put in our waist. There was a huge head of Garuda in Plaza Garuda, and a large area in front of it called Lotus Pond.

It was sunny that morning. It was quite hot compare to where we came from. It worth to watch. GWK area had beautiful scenery with the limestone pillars. It was cut beautifully and could be great photo area.

It was short time to visit GWK. We could not finish the performance at Amphitheater. We had to rush and got back to hotel at Kuta. Our Plane planned to be be departed at 13.45 pm. It took longer to travel back to hotel because traffic jam around jalan raya kuta. Fortunately, we could catch check in time on time.
